When a fellow Black Sheep Knitter is suspected of poisoning her coworker, the group puts down their needles and takes up their friend's defense . . .
Suzanne Cavanaugh has just about had it with her office rival at Prestige Properties. It's bad enough that Liza Devereaux is constantly needling her at work, but when she shows up at one of Suzanne's open houses to poach potential buyers, it's the last straw. No one in the office fails to hear the two snarling at each other.
When Liza is later found dead in her office cubicle--poisoned by a diet shake--Suzanne becomes the prime suspect. It's soon discovered, though, that Liza had double-crossed so many around town and stashed their dark secrets in her designer handbags that anyone could be the culprit.
The Black Sheep Knitters have no doubt their friend has been framed--but they need to prove it. Stirred to action, they get together to catch a sneaky killer who's trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes . .
Oh My Word, with this book Anne Canadeo has written a story which is up there with the great Crime Writers of the Golden Age!
Suzanne appears to have a loathe, loathe relationship with one of her co-workers, she is fed up of Liza pinching her Real Estate clients (and the ensuing commission!) and it all comes to a head at the weekly work meeting when Suzanne nearly gets into a full on cat fight with her. Luckily the Black Sheep knitters are able to calm her down, and when she sees Liza is still at the office she heads in to smooth things over, only to discover her dead, now all the evidence points at Suzanne and the other four ladies need to find out what happened before Suzanne ends up wearing Orange for the rest of her life.
With Maggie's Detective boyfriend being one of those in charge of the investigation the five snoops will need to tread carefully or everything will go wrong for all of them.
An Interview With A Character
What is your full name?
Suzanne Romano Cavanaugh. I rarely use the Romano – only when I’m eating pasta, or some other tasty Italian dish. (That was a joke, get it?) My best friends are well acquainted with my Italian roots and dramatic side, which is partly why they call me the Diva our group.
What is your Profession?
I’m the top sales associate at Prestige Properties, the go-to realtor for luxury homes in beautiful Plum Harbor, Massachusetts. You’d love our charming, seaside village with it’s quaint Main Street and Victorian homes.
What is your current favorite book or movie?
I loved “A Star Is Born.” Isn’t Lady Gaga amazing? She is the very definition of style, which I so admire. I love fashion and usually set a high bar in our little burg ,but with a full time job, three kids, and a loving but demanding hubby, some days it’s hard to find time to blow out my hair, no less hold up my rep as a local fashion icon. I do my tasteful best.
What is your go to comfort book or movie?
That’s a no-brainer. “The Notebook,” with Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, before he became Ryan Gosling. When they have that argument, standing in the water and he’s screaming and crying and says, “I wrote you 365 letters. I wrote you every day for a year.” And she says, “You wrote me? You wrote me?” Sigh…I get goose bumps just thinking of it.
If someone was to play you in a movie who would it be? OR what character you would want to be in a book?
I love that question. You’re probably going to laugh but I’d love to be Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Predjudice. She’s just so sharp and clever, and so on top of her game. Mr. Darcy does not know what hit him. He thinks he’s the hottest thing to hit Longbourn since rum punch and she puts him in his place with a flick of her eyebrow. And I love how they can’t stand each other at first and then fall madly in love. Oh, and I love to those gowns with the corsets. The style definitely extenuates the positive in a girl’s figure.
What is your ideal evening?
Hanging out at home and reading Pride and Predjudice, or watching “The Notebook,” with some microwave popcorn, or course. Only kidding. I had you there for a minute, didn’t I? I can do way better than that. Let’s see…my ideal evening is a late, leisurely dinner at gourmet restaurant with fun cocktails and fine wines and entrees that are set on fire by the waiters. Oh, and there’s a dress code that requires me to buy a new outfit, probably a knockout red dress of some flowy material and super high heels. There’s candlelight and a breathtaking water view with a full moon glistening over gently lapping waves. And no kids for say….3,000 miles. Hey, I think my ideal evening is happening on a tropical vacation!
Is that really the last question? Gee, this was fun. If you’re ever in Plum Harbor stop by my office. Better yet, look for the Black Sheep & Company knitting shop on Main Street. You can’t miss it. I’m usually there with my friends, Maggie, Lucy, Dana and Phoebe. We love to hang out and knit, and sometimes, we solve a crime or two.
