Would you move a dead body for the sake of your best friend? Ask cha-cha babe Celia Ewing, a sixty-five-year-old widow who has just settled into Boca Pelicano Palms, the Florida retirement community of her dreams. When Celia's best friend Marcy calls her and their friend Deb for help in the middle of the night, they find a naked Marcy trapped under the body of her beau, the community's board president, Melvin. And he's dead. The three friends secretly move Melvin back to his apartment setting off a chain of events that will threaten to tear their community apart and send them to jail. Melvin is one of a number of residents who are dying under suspicious circumstances; and soon Celia becomes an amateur sleuth in an attempt to identify what she suspects is a serial murderer.
Filled with humorous, witty observations about retirement communities, the realities of getting older, and the promise of new love, the Cha-Cha Babes of Pelican Way celebrates the deep bonds of female friendships, the desire for companionship at any age, and shows us that it's never too late to learn how to cha-cha through life.

Secondary Main Character, Marcy
I’m Marcy. I’m sexy, beautiful and charming and look 49 not my real age of 65. Got a great bod, too. Just ask my best friends, Celia and Deb. Never mind, don’t ask Deb. She’s got a potty mouth, but Celia is reserved and smart. She’ll give you the straight scoop. But we did get into the worst situation anyone can get into and all because of me and my hormones. A bunch of women who were jealous of me opened their big mouths, told lies and got us into the worst trouble anyone can get into – suspected of murder and embezzlement. Lucky for us, Celia is so darn smart and began to put a really complex puzzle together.
My one downfall is my children won’t speak to me. It’s painful. When I was younger and in an abusive marriage, (although he’s a bad husband he is a good dad), I followed my guru to an Ashram and stayed a number of years. No matter what I do to get them back nothing helps. So, maybe I over compensate by dressing with short, shorts, halter tops, stiletto heels and tight, short dresses, with lots of cleavage showing. Yeah, a group of old biddies think I’m a slut but at my age that’s a compliment. Look, I am a serial monogamist, I admit. Always loyal to whomever I date. So, they say I’m not age appropriate. Who died and left them chief. I only date single men as a way to fight loneliness and depression. I thrive on male attention as an escape from the pain of having left my children at a vulnerable age. So, I flaunt my stuff. Come on. Tell me I look great.
