Primrose Farm is Rachel’s very own slice of heaven. Come rain or shine there’s always a pot of tea brewing by the Aga, the delicious aroma of freshly baked puddings, and a chorus of happy memories drifting through the kitchen.
But the farm is in a spot of trouble. As the daffodils spring, Rachel must plant the seeds of change if she wants to keep the farm afloat, and it’s all resting on a crazy plan. She’ll need one family cook book, her Mum Jill’s baking magic – and a reason to avoid her distractingly gorgeous neighbour, Tom . . .
Swapping their wellies for aprons, can Rachel and Jill bake their way into a brighter future? The proof will be in the pudding!
Set in Northunberland this is a tale of three generations of females, Jill Swinton (the grandmother who lost her husband 2 years ago), Rachel Swinton (a single mother and farmer) and 5 year old Maisy, Rachel is basically running the farm single handed since the death of her father but when she realises that her mother is starting to come out of her funk and start baking again it seems that they could end up with another income stream, and boy do they need it! Eventually Jill comes around to the idea of baking puddings for sale at the local deli (and then at their own cafe as well later) and with the help of some good friends they start to make things happen. Just as things seem to be going well Rachel's deadbeat ex (and Maisy's father) turns up like the bad penny he is - luckily the three Swintons have Tom a divorced neighbouring farmer to fall back on.
Only things start to go wrong there as well - can Rachel and Tom put their various heartaches aside and find each other?
